Who are The Singing People?

We're a friendly group of people who get together to sing. We don't call ourselves a choir. We don’t have 'rehearsals' and none of us is any good at reading music. But we do love to sing and chat and drink tea. Sometimes we go out dancing.

We’ve been singing and dancing and chatting and drinking tea since 2011, when a few of us thought it might be fun to start a 'Proper Choir'. We soon realised that it was more fun just to turn up and sing and dance and drink tea whenever we felt like it.

We also love meeting new people, so click the button below to join in and tell us how you take your tea.

How does it work?

Let us know you're coming and then... just turn up! You don't have to commit to turning up every week, or pay a membership subscription, and we won't ask you to fill in any forms. You don't have to know what your 'range' is or have any prior experience. Just be willing to have a go and have a chat. And if you can bake, even better.

Below are our meet-up and singing times. Once a month we sing, and every couple of months we go to the pub. Those who feel like it can join us for our Big Charity Sing Thing in early December. For regular meetings we ask for a small donation on the door of around a couple of pounds.
